Imagine dying your hair pink and wearing only pink clothing for a year. If that sounds impossible, it’s not.
52-year-old Kitten Kay Sera has been living a pink life for the last 35 years. She even resides in a totally pink house with furniture of that color.
But that’s not the craziest yet. Her dog, Miss Kisses, is also pink all thanks to vet-approved beetroot juice dyes.
Thus, Ripley’s Believe It or Not recently awarded Sera with the world’s pinkest person title.
She had this to say:
“I consider myself proudly to be a pink flamingo in a world of pigeons. I am the world’s pinkest person and my life is devoted to that color. Some people think I am weird but frankly I am fierce and fabulous.”
She’s not the only one who appreciates her passion for pink. Her house, which has a giant pink shell bed, pink carpeting, and even a pink kitchen, is often used for photo shoots.
Just earlier this month, both Sera and her house were featured in Paris Hilton’s photo shoot, The Metro reported. Ruby Rose, Ellen Von Unwerth, and Moschino have also used her home before.
However, Sera’s pink lifestyle is very costly. “The pinkification of my world is a work in progress and its cost me over a million dollars and counting,” she said, according to rushhourdaily.com.
It’s hardly a surprise as her collection of pink is no joke. She only uses pink soap, pink bubble bath, pink towels, and pink toilet paper. Plus, her kitchen utensils are also that color.
While her favorite shade is soft pink, Sera said fuchsia is off limits because “it’s simply too red” for her taste, the Daily Mail reported.
Her love for pink began in her late teens when she stopped wearing other colors besides black, white, and of course pink, according to rushhourdaily.com.
“I liked the combination and thought I’d try it as an experiment,” she said. “By the end of the year I was wearing all pink and loved it.”
As a result, Sera gave away all her non-pink clothes.
“My family thought it was a phase but I am starting my fourth decade of pink power and am not looking back,” she proudly stated.
“Wearing just one color made me feel strong,” Sera added. “It can be both delicate and demanding, tempered or tough.”
In addition, she doesn’t have the stress of deciding what to wear. Therefore, even Miss Kisses has a pink wardrobe.
“Wearing pink makes me stand out. I always feel alive and happy in it and pink is never drab. You only live one life and I want mine to be remembered and count so I am the Pink Lady of the World,” Sera said.
Her favorite is a dress worn by Audrey Hepburn.
She also calls herself “The Pink Lady of Hollywood,” for many reasons.
“I live in Hollywood and I do voiceovers. I’m a singer and appear in movies,” she told the Daily Mail.
Her song, “Sex Kitten,” even features Beyoncé on backing vocals.
Moreover, her resume states that she only wears pink, according to her Instagram post.
“Pink has become my life and I have to admit it’s a relief. Who wants the bother of color co-ordination? For me, pink is empowering,” the ‘Pink Lady’ told The Sun.
