Recently, in a press release Rolls Royce announced that it would be phasing out two of its most iconic cars, the Phantom coupe and the Drophead coupe (convertible). However, in that same press release, Rolls Royce announced it will be ending the story of these two cars with one last final chapter, and that is with the Zenith collection.

“Now the time has come for Phantom Drophead Coupé and Phantom Coupé to leave the stage, a moment that will be marked with a remarkable Bespoke Collection, conceived with one purpose; to once again set the highest standard by which everything is judged.”

The Zenith collection will contain 50 (already spoken for) one off custom, two-door, Phantoms that contain special upgrades that distinguish them from other phantoms and tell a story of the Phantom coupe’s history. A few of these upgrades include laser engraved armrests that depict the location of their first ever unveiling, machined aluminum cup holders, and a boot that contains a minibar as well as a fridge for only the most luxurious of picnics.

The most distinguishing quality of the Zenith Phantoms that sets them apart from the rest of their brethren is an actual piece of the Phantom coupe’s assembly line in Goodwood rests within the dash of the care housed in a laser engraved aluminum case.

It was inevitable that we would see the end of the coupes. Following the announcement of the eighth generation Phantom limo (four door) and its aluminum frame that will be carried over into other Rolls Royce models, we knew their time was limited.

With Rolls Royce closing the doors on the Phantom coupe, its great to see that they’ve paid such great detail in giving this magnificent car a final goodbye. What they have created is truly an enthusiast’s car and a rolling museum for all those who catch a glimpse of it on the road to enjoy.
