It was reported that AirAsia Flight QZ8501 has gone missing early Sunday morning. The flight that was on path to Singapore from Surabaya, and reportedly lost contact with Indonesian Air Control after trying to gain higher altitude in response to the bad weather.
The flight had an accounted 162 passengers, which include seven crewmembers, an infant and seventeen children. Efforts to find the missing plane have only just begun. While they did search for the missing aircraft for ten hours last night, the search was put on hold because of how late it got. While the search was put on hold for the most part some local ships and planes did continue to look for any wreckage of the crash, but unfortunately nothing has yet to come up.
Djoko Murjatmodjo, Indonesian’s acting director of transportation, remains hopeful as he exclaims, “We don’t dare to presume what has happened except that it has lost contact.” He is praying that the worst has not happened and that plane did not indeed go down somewhere over seas.
This is the second plane to go missing this year, a tragedy where 162 lives may be at stake, with no one able to respond to their cries of woe. It is at this time that forces need to be jointed that way these people have some sort of chance of survival.
