As if we needed another reason to shop online.
Model and fashion girl du jour Alexa Chung has been quietly working on her new project for months, steadily dropping occasional hints and clues on Instagram and Snapchat. According to The Huffington Post, Chung’s new app, Villoid, is “a cross between Instagram and Pinterest, only with a ‘buy’ button.”
“I am pleased and proud to announce that the secret app I have been working on for months is now available is now available in the App Store today!!!” Chung announced on her Instagram September 8.
The media darling even signed off the post by saying “With love, Alexa Zuckerberg-Chung,” a cheeky reference to Facebook co-founder and chief executive Mark Zuckerberg.
Unfortunately, if you’re an Android user you’re out of luck if you want to download the app, for right now at least.
“Dear Android users, I know how you feel. Bear with us while we work on making VILLOID available for you too,” Chung posted only two hours after making her initial announcement.
If Chung’s proven success in the fashion industry is any sign of what is to come, we’re sure Villoid’s success is already in the bag, and what a fashionable bag it will be.
