The National Portrait Gallery will have an exhibit of Audrey Hepburn. The exhibit will go from July 2 to October 18. This coincides with the 65th anniversary of Hepburn’s performance of London’s West End nightclub Ciro’s. Photos for the exhibit include some lent from Hepburn’s sons, and photos from her entire career.
Her sons, Sean Hepburn Ferrer and Luca Dotti, have given photos of their mother for the exhibit. There are also pictures from her early days in ballet and modeling. There will also be some of the iconic photos of her from her most famous films like Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Roman Holiday.
There will also be some behind-the-scenes photos for diehard fans to see maybe for the first time. The show has been five years in the making working with both of Hepburn’s sons, National Portrait Gallery’s senior special adviser on photographs, Terence Pepper, and the gallery’s associate curator of photographs Helen Trompeteler.
Putting the show together Pepper has said
“Looking at the vast number of books already published on Hepburn, we had to strike a balance between including images people expected as well as seeking out equally interest- ing but previously overlooked items of similar quality and merit.”
