Alfonso Ribeiro is best known for playing the role of the quirky Carlton Banks on the hit 90’s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. During his run on the show, he manages to gain popularity along with Will Smith. Ribeiro even popularized his signature “Carlton-dance,” which probably made him a good choice as a participant on another hit show Dancing with the Stars.
With such an iridescent career on television, Ribeiro was the perfect choice for the new host of America’s Funniest Home Videos. The show has been running successfully since its inception in 1989. Ribeiro is the torch-bearer to predecessors like Bob Saget, John Fungelsang, Daisy Fuentes and Tom Bergeron.
With executive producer Vin Di Bona, this ABC hit show has a lot more for its audience with new rib tickling home videos. The show’s longest running host, Tom Bergeron, tweeted,
“After he danced with @sadierob, I congratulated @alfonso_ribeiro on his new gig! Couldn’t be happier for him! #AFV”
Also tweeting about his new job is Alfonso Ribeiro saying,
“So excited to be the new host of @afvofficial this fall season. It is truly an honor. Thank you…”
We are looking forward to seeing what Ribeiro brings to the table.
