“Art is useless”! Yes, lots of people keep this kind of mindset as they think only science can improve their lifestyle. But now they are facing the harsh reality as there is no way left instead of enjoying music, painting, reading books, dancing, or practicing something creative.

The world seems truly tedious if art leaves us. Now a lot of countries are going through a strict lockdown period. Britain is now on its second week under truly strict lockdown. In this kind of situation, arts organizations are acting more creative in their attempts to connect with the rest of the world.

In the United States, the Getty Museum has come with a novel way for all art lovers to connect with its collection. Royal Academy of Dance is going to launch a series of online ballet classes. This series is specially designed for over-55s. Theaters have been closed all around the country, but that not stops the theater lovers from getting the joys of communal experience. Choirmaster Gareth Malone is now in try of creating a great British Home Chorus so that people can sing together even after maintaining proper social distancing.

Art reproducing life

J Paul Getty Museum is in Los Angeles, and it seems like the home to works by Rembrandt, Cezanne, and hundreds of other world-renowned artists. The museum closed to the public on 14th March, and after that, its social media team has started working effectively to find ways to keep their audience entertained. According to a Dutch Instagram account, there, people see recreations of works by Rene Magritte, Frida Kahlo, and others. The Getty has already invited its followers to recreate artworks using three things available around their houses. Art fans instantly accepted the challenge. They are using everyday items to fulfill the challenge. Even it has been noticed that one participant used coffee filters to prepare a mock-up of a ruff worn by one of El Greco’s subjects. A female participant used a shower cap, and her baby bump to perfectly replicate Raphael’s La donna gravida.

Sing and dance

There is no better way left there to combat coronavirus but self-isolation. It is effective to break the virus spread-chain. People are singing and dancing in their own places as the heart will be less heavy if you sing and connect with the mountain and moon thorough voice and lyrics. Gareth Malone’s new project shows that last week more than 160,000 people took part in the rehearsal on YouTube. Malone said that it is really amazing how many people have signed up, and this is truly wonderful and inspiring. A choir member said that this is truly a beautiful idea and added, “Thank you so much, Gareth, and everyone who is making this possible.”
