Chrysler Reports an Increase in Car Sales

Chrysler and General Motors reported that car sales jumped 19% this past September. Ford took a slight dip in sales at 2.7%. Ford reasoned that the decline was related to a planned hold on 2014 F-150 pickup production while it prepares to release its 2015 aluminum-bodied F-150. Nissan also exceeded sales expectations, with sales that pulled past last year’s numbers by 18.5% to total 102,955. Honda posted a 12% increase from last year to 118,223. Apple’s upcoming iPad Air 2 is slated for release in October, and the rumors are flying about its new features. More power is a priority when a new string of tech is released. Merck Will Purchase Sigma-Aldrich

Merck KGaA has agreed to purchase Sigma-Aldrich Corp to the tune of $17B in cash, in hopes of expanding the range of chemicals used in research labs and pharmaceutical manufacturing while reducing its dependence on drug development. Merck’s move away from developing pharmaceuticals couldn’t come at a better time, as their Sereno biotechnology business has struggled to create new products in recent years.
