The next installment in Bethesda’s acclaimed Elder Scrolls series was designed for mobile, according to the company’s E3 press conference. Elder Scrolls Blades will be a first-person RPG for Android and iOS and will feature “console-quality” graphics and multiple combat styles.

According to Bethesda Game Studios’ Todd Howard, the game will cast players as a member of the elite Imperial Blades, who returns to find his town in ruins.

Players will able to control their character by tapping to move, or using virtual dual control sticks. Combat will include melee, ranged, and magical attacks. Interestingly, Blades will be playable in both landscape and portrait mode on your phone. The game will also include a “town-building” mode that lets players create and customize a virtual city, as well as visit each other’s creations.

After the game’s eventual launch on iOS and Android, Bethesda insists that Elder Scrolls Blades will eventually be available on PC and consoles (think Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Nintendo Switch). The game will be available for free later this year, but you can visit the game’s official launch site to preorder. If you do so, you’ll receive an exclusive sword and helmet.
