Bill Paxton Dies at Age 61

The versatile actor, Bill Paxton, who starred in Titanic and HBO’s Big Love died at age 61. The actor reportedly passed away due to heart surgery complications.

The Paxton family representative commented that Bill’s passion for entertainment was felt by all who knew him. The representative stated that his warmth and tireless energy was felt by everyone he worked with.

Paxton, a native Texan, worked closely with James Cameron and played a punk rocker in The Terminator. He also starred as a soldier in Aliens, a car dealer in True Lies, and a treasure hunter in Titanic.

Bill Paxton also earned an Emmy nomination for his role in the 2012 mini-series Hatfields & McCoys. The actor also starred on the new CBS series Training Day as a detective.

Production for Training Day wrapped up last December. Reportedly all thirteen episodes after the midseason finale have been filmed.

CBS released a statement commented that they are deeply shocked and saddened by Paxton’s passing. The network stated that he was a gifted and popular actor who so many memorable roles on TV and film.

CBS network also commented that his colleagues will remember him as the guy who lit up every room with his infectious charm. They also stated that they offer their deepest sympathy to his wife and two children.

Paxton was also known for his role as a tornado chaser in Twister. The actor is also remembered for his roles in Tombstone, Apollo 13, and Weird Science.

HBO’s series Big Love lasted for five seasons. Paxton earned three Golden Globe nominations for his role in the series.

Allegedly Paxton disagreed with the violent way the show ended.

In a 2012 interview, he commented that for five years he had a great run. Although, Paxton commented that he wished it ended with a bang instead of a quiet whimper.

The star was reportedly known as “wild Bill” for his on-set pranks and jokes.
