Chris Christie, the governor of New Jersey, was one of many speakers at Monday’s RNC. Christie’s role: Clinton’s attacker.

He appeared in front of enthusiastic Republicans to condemn Hillary Clinton. He did not have to do much to embark the crowd on a crusade against Hillary Clinton, as soon as he started talking about her, the group lighted up, screaming ‘’lock her up! Lock her up!’’.

Christie put on his attorney general hat and started Clinton’s indictment by lining up evidence against her. He asked the crowd to be the jury and to scream ‘’guilty’’ at his charges.

“Let’s do something fun tonight,” Christie told the delegates. “As a former federal prosecutor, I welcome the opportunity to hold her accountable for her performance and her character.”

Even though Christie had lost his 2016 GOP presidential bid and Donald Trump renounced him as his final VP choice, he did not let his anger show, or at least he directed it at Hillary Clinton instead. He started by saying:

“She was America’s chief diplomat, look around at the violence and danger in our world today – every region of the world has been infected with her flawed judgment.”

Christie then continued with examples such as the ‘’disastrous overthrow’’ of Mummer Gaddafi. He cited the case of Nigeria where he claimed Clinton had allowed Al-Qaida to grow. He accused her of having crafted ‘’the worst nuclear deal in history’’ with Iran and making bad economic deals with China. Christie finally used his biggest weapon against the former secretary of state; the private email server saga. He reminded the public of what the FBI described as an ‘’extremely careless’’ act.  “Let’s face it,” Christie said. “Hillary Clinton cared more about protecting her own secrets than she did about protecting America’s secrets. Then she lied about it over and over again.”

Christie added:

“As to Hillary Clinton, putting herself ahead of America: guilty or not guilty? Hillary Clinton, lying to the American people about her selfish, awful judgment: guilty or not guilty?” The crowd found Hillary Clinton guilty on all charges, with people screaming again and again ‘’lock her up! Lock her up’’.

Chris Christie, who had failed his 2016 GOP presidential bid, was the first governor of the establishment to endorse his longtime friend Donald Trump. He is now Trump personal policy adviser and led Trump’s transition team months ago.

Although Christie said at May event that “We never ever make a mistake by standing with our friends, and Donald Trump is my friend,” Trump preferred to stand with Mike Pence for the next months to come. Christie was on the shortlist for VP but had to surrounder to Trump’s final choice.

Having put behind him these events, Christie concentrates his efforts toward making sure Trump gets elected. He said “I feel really comfortable and confident with my role and always did, even before the vice presidential consideration,” he said. “I’m going to approach this is the way I always approach it. My job is to help them get elected. More importantly at this point, to me, is making sure this administration is ready for him to make decisions beginning on November 9.”.

Christie’s tirade against Hillary Clinton ended with a cheerful crowd and his reminder that only Trump can save America from itself …
