It is unusual, and sometimes quite fun, to stumble across a piece of news that also happens to be a record of some sort. One such couple, Ruth and Leo Zangerin, from Illinois just happen to have broken that record.
Austin Zanger, one of the twelve Zanger kids, gave birth to son Jaxton Leol this happened to be the 100th grandchild for the Zanger family. Not just that, but Jaxton also happens to be the 46th of the great-grandchildren. There also are 53 grandchildren and finally one great-great grandchild, which add up to a hundred.
One can only imagine how grand the family gatherings may be – pun intended. Austin Zagner said, “We rent out a church hall”. Leo Zagner said in an interview, “The good Lord has just kept sending them. We could start our own town.”
When asked about the dynamics of his family, Austin went on to say,
“We’re all really close. We get together a lot. There’s always a lot of interaction. We spend a lot of time with each other. I know there are a lot of families half of our size who only get together maybe once or twice a year.”
