Emma Stone is now the highest paid actress in the world, according to Forbes.
The 28-year-old actress is known for her role in various films including, “Crazy, Stupid, Love” (2011), “The Help” (2011), “The Amazing Spider-Man” (2012), “Aloha” (2015), and her most recent “La La Land” (2016), a movie-musical, which she won a Best Actress Oscar award for.
Forbes reports that Stone earned 26 million pretax during its 12-month scoring period (June 2016 to June 2017,) with the bulk of her pay coming from”La La Land.” In the film, Stone portrays a character named Mia who is a barista aspiring to become an actress. The Academy Award winning film made $445.3 million at the global box office, according to Forbes.
“I moved here when I was 15 to start auditioning, I knew what it felt like to go on audition after audition,” Stone said backstage after accepting her Academy Award, Forbes reported.
Last year, the top paid actress was Jennifer Lawerence. Lawerence, who is well known for her lead role in the “Hunger Games” movie series was bumped down to number three on the list with earnings of 24 million. Second on the list is Jennifer Aniston with earnings of 25.5 million. Aniston is well known for her role as Rachel in 1994 to 2004 television sitcom “Friends,” and in movies including “Horrible Bosses” (2011 and 2014), and “We’re the Millers.”

Besides Stone, Lawrence and Aniston, other names on the top 10 highest-paid actresses of 2017 are “Ghostbusters” star Melissa McCarthy at $18 million; 1998 television sitcom series “That ’70s Show” and “Bad Moms” star Mila Kunis at $15.5 million; “Harry Potter” movie series and “Beauty and the Beast” star Emma Watson at $14 million; “Mad Max: Fury Road” star Charlize Theron at $12 million; “Carol” star Cate Blanchett at $12 million; “Secret in Thier Eyes” star Julia Roberts also at $12 million; and, “Nocturnal Animals” star Amy Adams at $11.5 million.
