New Jersey native, Brian Fallon, most commonly known as the singer of popular rock group the Gaslight Anthem, came back home to New Jersey this week to help celebrate the holidays. The famous singer who is easily comparable to the likes of New Jersey icon, Bruce Springsteen, has helped revitalize New Jersey in terms of rock n roll, playing to thousands every night. But around this time of the year, he wanted to seek out his roots again, so he returned home.
Brian just played a string of acoustic shows over at the Crossroads, in Garwood NJ, a venue, which seems to be a local favorite for the musician. The original date of the show was supposed to be December 18, but there was such an overwhelming demand once the first night sold out, that he had to add two more, which also sold out in mere minutes. The venue featured a small stage, much different than what Brian has been playing across the country. But Brian Fallon humbleness has no end. You could tell that he was happy to play these intimate shows.
While Brian Fallon is most known for his work in the Gaslight Anthem, he decided this year, that he was going to switch things up a little bit. And that he did, he only played one Gaslight Anthem song, and covered song from his other group, The Horrible Crowes’s, album “Elsie” entirely. He also covered other material that he rarely touches upon live. So, he wanted to see how the crowd would respond. The crowd reacted enthusiastically to his decision to play his other material.
