Last night at the Golden Globe Awards, our once favorite Hollywood bachelor, now married and off limits, George Clooney, accepted the Cecil B. DeMiIlle Award.
Clooney began his speech with jokes as to how he has watched so many actors and actresses grow in the industry and how he’s still immature (in a good way). He addressed the loosing nominee’s, how it would be hard for them to look people in the eyes at the after parties, but he made it very clear that anyone who made it there in the room at the Globes was in fact a winner. Just being there meant something, as so many fail, while they have succeeded.
He made a genuine tribute to recently diseased actress Lauren Bacall and Robin Williams, as well as our right to Freedom of Speech, about “The Interview” and the attacks in Paris.
Finally he made a loving tribute to his new bride Amal Alamuddin and how he has waited 53 years to find her. It was a genuine tribute to love and respect to not only his bride but to his fellow actors.
