Many injuries have occurred on a JetBlue flight. CNN is reporting that 22 passengers and 2 crew members were taken to the hospital when a flight went through some heavy turbulence. This incident took place on Thursday.
Officials are reporting that the flight had approximately 150 passengers. It was on its way to Sacramento from Boston, Massachusetts. CNN is also reporting that the plane came across a cluster of thunderstorms while passing over South Dakota. Though the plane was able to maneuver around one storm, it unfortunately got caught up in a 2nd one.
Several people were injured but reports are saying that no injuries were fatal. The passengers are also praising the flight crew and pilots for safely landing the plane despite the damages the aircraft suffered in the midst of all the storms. Passengers spoke to reporters and described the incident. As a whole, they all seemed to agree that the experience was very scary. People were reportedly flying out of their seats and into the air. The drops in speed were literally pulling people out of their seats. One passenger even described the experience like riding the ‘Tower of Terror’ at Disney World. Though the experience was scary, they also praised the staff and pilots of the flight for handling the situation very well.
Unfortunately, incidents like this happen occasionally while flying. Airlines do their best to make sure they train their staff and pilots to handle these problems. In this situation, it seems as if JetBlue did a good job in hiring people that are able to do make sure passengers were taken care of and the plane landed safely. In the future, other airlines can take not of what JetBlue was able to do. By studying them, everyone can be well -prepared for these emergencies in the future.
