A new platform named Level Up aims to link eSports and cryptocurrency by rewarding users who win certain challenges with XPER.
They aim to make their service available to users on all platforms, meaning that gamers from PC, console, and mobile can all create an account and compete. Once a user has created their account, they will also need to choose an eSports game to compete in. They currently advertise two ways of betting: professional competition or farming. Farming is safer as users won’t lose any XPER for losing the challenge, whereas the professional competitions have an equal risk to reward ratio.
Once a match is complete, the players will be returned to the Level Up application where they need to manually “verify” who won. This, on its own, plays on an honesty contract which could end up being a problem. If both players agree on the winner, he will be paid in XPER and both players would have their stats updated. They will have a system in place, however, if players should disagree with one another.
Players involved get to review all the evidence and determine who is right or wrong based on it. It is yet unknown how the reviewing players will be chosen.
As of now, the Level Up platform is still proof of concept and has not been officially developed yet. The creator did make a YouTube video regarding the whole process, and it is clear that he put some time and research into the whole system. One more question is why the player reward system is strictly with XPER, and not a more popular cryptocurrency like BitCoin or LiteCoin. It could be that the owner does own the entirety or some sort of share in the XPER cryptocurrency and is simply trying to promote it. Of course, the platform could end up never coming out, so there is always that.
