List of World Politicians Affected by the Coronavirus

The coronavirus pandemic has affected 188 nations and caused global fatalities over 355,000, including leading officials, popular and athletic stars. Out of the 5.6 million cases registered, renowned politicians, superstars, and athletes are dealing with the dissemination of the epidemic across the world.

Here are some leading government figures who were infected by the virus:

Government Officials and Their Spouses

Riek Machar: the Vice-President of South Sudan and his wife, the defense minister, Angelina Teny, were tested for Coronavirus positive, the office of Riek Machar reported on May 18. On May 12, Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin speaker, said he tested Coronavirus positive.

Ferozuddin Feroz: On May 7, Afghanistan’s Minister of Health was infected with COVID-19 and was isolated in his home.

Olga Lyubimova: On May 6, the Russian Minister of Culture tested positive. Lyubimova has moderate symptoms, operates remotely, and attends electronic conferences, said press secretary Anna Usacheva.

Faisal Edhi: The son of the late Abdul Sattar Edhi, head of Pakistan’s largest charitable organization, the Edhi Foundation, and the world’s famous philanthropist tested positive.

Asad Qaiser: On May 1, after organizing a celebratory Ramadan dinner, Pakistan’s parliamentary speaker announced he screened positive for COVID-19.

Carmen Calvo: On March 25, the Spanish Vice – president screened Coronavirus positive. 

Prince Charles: On March 25, the Prince of Wales, the British heir, tested Coronavirus positive and added he isolated himself in a royal estate in Scotland.

Abba Kyari: The chief of staff of the Nigerian president tested positive and died of Coronavirus on April 17. In his 70s, Kyari was a major member of the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Rand Paul: The first American senator to screen positive for Coronavirus is Rand, the Republican from Kentucky.

Who else has been Affected by Coronavirus?

Prince Albert: Prince Albert II of Monaco was tested positive for the new Coronavirus. The head of the Mediterranean enclave still works at the Royal Palace in his private apartments.

Barnier: The Brexit chief negotiator of the European Union said he tested positive for the virus.

Bento Albuquerque: The Mine and Energy Minister, screened for the Coronavirus as a positive-second-infected member of the Cabinet. Jair Bolsonaro, President of Brazil, reported on Wednesday.

August Heleno: National Security Adviser of Brazil stated on March 18 that, although he had no symptoms, he tested positive for Coronavirus. He is presently under seclusion at home while getting ready for a second test. At the age of 72, Heleno is a former general of the military and one of Bolsonaro’s trusted assistants.

Jeremy Issacharoff: The Israeli diplomat to Germany tested positive for Coronavirus.

Friedrich Merz: On Twitter March 17, the 64-year-old politician, who was running for Germany’s CDU, claimed he tested positive for the Coronavirus and was self-isolating at his home.

Kozo Tashima: On March 17, the president of the Japanese football association was verified positive. Tashima is also the Japanese Olympic Committee’s deputy director.

Nadine Dorries: The first British politician to test positive on March 10 was Nadine. She is a Minister in the UK Department of Health.

Peter Dutton: After contracting the virus, the Australian Minister of Home Affairs was isolated in the hospital.

Massoumeh Ebtekar: The Iranian Vice-President is the highest executive in the state to be afflicted. Several other administration executives in Iran have been infected, including Iraj Harirchi, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Health. Iran is the epicenter of the Coronavirus epidemic in the Middle East.

Sophie Grégoire Trudeau: On March 12, after she visited the United Kingdom, Canadian prime minister, Justin Trudeau’s wife, tested COVID-19 positive.  Within the following two weeks, Gregoire Trudeau said she and her spouse intended to live in isolation.

Begona Gomez: Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez’s wife, tested positive.

Quim Torra: On March 16, Spain’s municipal governor, Catalonia, claimed he had tested positive for the Coronavirus and remained in the state-building in solitude.

Pere Aragones: On March 15, the Deputy Head of Government of Catalonia confirmed he had tested positive as well.

Irene Montero: On March 15, Spanish Deputy Prime Minister, Pablo Iglesias, was positively tested and placed in solitary confinement with his partner, a Spanish Minister.

Franck Riester: The French culture minister said earlier last week that having contracted the virus, he would be remaining in his residence in Paris.

Francis Suarez: On March 13, the Mayor of the American City of Miami tested positive for COVID-19.

Fabio Wajngarten: Upon returning from a tour in the US, Bolsonaro’s press secretary to the Brazilian President came back positive.

Michal Wos: On March 16, the Polish Ministry for the Environment tested positive.

 Oumarou Idani: The minister of Burkina Faso displayed positive indicators.

Stanislas Ouaro: Burkina Faso’s Minister of Education was confirmed with COVID-19.

Simeon Sawadogo: The Burkina Faso Minister of the Interior tested Coronavirus positive.

Alpha Barry: On March 20, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Burkina Faso screened positive for COVID-19.

Matthew Hancock: On March 27, the British Minister of Health, Matthew Hancock, revealed he has the Coronavirus.

Boris Johnson: The 55-year-old United Kingdom Prime Minister, on March 27, tested positive and excluded for Coronavirus. His office declared it to be a “precautionary step” on April 5. On April 6, after his symptoms worsened, Johnson was taken to the Intensive Care Unit and requested the Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab, to represent him where needed.

Alister Jack: Scottish Secretary and British Prime Minister’s cabinet member developed COVID-19 side effects.

Seyi Makinde: Nigeria’s governor of Oyo State tested positive for Coronavirus.

Yaakov Litzman: The Israel Ministry of Health and his wife tested positive for Coronavirus on April 1.

Ali Larijani: The Iranian parliamentary President tested positive for Coronavirus on April 2.

Nuno Gomes Nabiam: Prime Minister of Guinea-Bissau, along with three cabinet leaders, tested for the Coronavirus positively on April 29. 

Mihail Mishustin: The Prime Minister of Russia, on April 30, said he tested positive for Coronavirus, and he isolated himself to shield other cabinet leaders.
