A new GenForward survey shows that an overwhelming majority of Americans ages 18-30 support LGBT rights.
The results from the survey, which was conducted with almost 2,000 people from July 9 to July 20, found that “most young people, across all races and ethnicities, favor rights and protections for LGBT people.”
GenForward said that these results show increased support for LGBT rights and policies since 2014:
“Among young whites, support has increased in the last two years for policies such as allowing gays and lesbians to legally adopt children (84 percent vs. 69 percent) and equal employment rights for LGBT individuals (92 percent vs. 84 percent)”
The survey also showed an increased acceptance for transgender people, including support for health insurance coverage of transgender health issues. However, the support varied depending on how it was described.
