Margot Robbie, the Suicide Squad Star, is reportedly in final negotiations to join the cast to Sony’s new Peter Rabbit film.
James Cordon is set to voice the main character Peter Rabbit and Rose Byrne is set to portray Bea. Domhnall Gleeson, who is known for his role in About Time, has also joined the cast as Mr. McGregor.
Sony has commissioned Will Gluck to be the film’s director. The new Peter Rabbit film is set to be a live action/animated hybrid film feature. Sony’s animated/live action film is set to be written by Rob Lieber.
Animal Logic, the Sydney-based animated and visual effects production studio, will create the animated sequences of Peter Rabbit. Animal Logic has recently worked on the blockbuster animated hit film The Lego Movie.
Zareh Naibandian and Will Gluck are also set to produce the new Sony film. Doug Belgrad, Jason Lust, and Jodi Hildebrand of Olive Bridge Entertainment studio will also serve as executive producers for Peter Rabbit.
Frederick Warne & Co. publishing company and Columbia Records are bringing Beatrix Potter’s beloved character Peter Rabbit to the big screen. Warne and Columbia are allegedly hoping to attract a new family audience with their new adaptation of Peter Rabbit.
Frederick Warne & Co. publishing company has been Beatrix Potter’s publisher since 1902’s release and printing of The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Frederick Warne & Co. also hold the rights to Peter Rabbit and Beatrix Potter IP or brands.
Margot Robbie has just finished or wrapped up production of Goodbye Christopher Robin, which also stars Domhnall Gleeson. Goodbye, Christopher Robin film is based on A.A. Mine’s creation of his beloved Winnie the Pooh character, which was inspired from his interactions with his young son Robin.
Robbie has recently acted in The Legend of Tarzan, The Suicide Squad, and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.
Peter Rabbit is set to premiere in March 2018 in certain European countries. The new film has yet to have a U.S. premiere date for theaters.
