Mel Gibson’s former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva has lost $14 million dollars because she violated a judge’s order to keep silent about the split. She will now receive only $250,000 from the original $15 million settlement between the two.

The Russian model and singer, who is the mother of Gibson’s 6-year-old daughter, accused the actor of domestic violence on Howard Stein’s show in 2013. Grigorieva, now 46, and Gibson, 60, became a couple soon after Gibson’s wife of 30 years filed for divorce, in 2009.

When the couple originally split in 2010, Gibson pleaded no contest to the charge of misdemeanor battery in order to avoid jail time. Ultimately, he was sentenced to three years’ probation, counseling and community service. Gibson also agreed to a custody settlement of $15 million—on condition that Grigorieva vowed not to release incriminatory audiotapes.

Six months later, Grigorieva reported to the authorities that the actor had punched her, as well as threatened her and Lucia with a gun. Later, she released the audiotapes that quickly became famous. On them, Gibson is recorded telling Grigorieva that she “deserved” the assault and that he’d “bury” her.

In a restraining order request filed June 25, 2010, the Russian singer alleged that the actor punched her in the face “more than once” and that she feared for her life sometimes.

After the audiotapes, a new deal was negotiated between the former couple, in which Gibson would give Grigorieva a total of $750,000, to be paid in three installments. This was on condition that Grigorieva would not speak about the split.

Gibson has so far paid $250,000. An appeals court recently ruled that Gibson is no longer responsible for the remaining $500,000, leaving Grigorieva with 1/60th of the original amount.
