Kanye West claims his actions regarding this year’s brief interruption of the Grammy Awards concerning Beck’s acceptance, was considered a “jolt of truth” by the opinionated rap star. Others feel that West’s actions were uncalled for.
New England football star, Brandon Browner called the artist a “sucka” on Twitter and tweeted:
KANYE WEST is a sucka! Everybody don’t listen to Beyoncé. Second time he tried to steal somebody shine. First time it was a 15 yr old girl

Browner was referring to Taylor Swift as the fifteen year old who was actually 19 years old at the time. Browner did not stop there and continued tweeting:
Kanye try and play that I’m weird because of my genius. Non of the greats pull that stupid ish. Meaning Marley, Mike Jack, Tupac, Jayz etc

The football players tweets indicate what many are thinking. West had no right to claim who is worthy of the award and who makes real music or artistry.
West claims the actions and the speech that followed after the Grammy’s was justified and expressed his motives while on the show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest “So the voices in my head told me go and then I just walked up like halfway up the stage. You know, what I really wanted to do is just joke around about what had happened before, but I just really didn’t want to take away from Beck’s moment or the time he’s having to talk. So I just walked back down because you know, it was kind of a joke like the Grammys themselves.”
While West claimed that he has nothing bad to say about the performer Beck, as a person West wanted to urge that:
“Beck is one of the nicest guys and one of the most respected musicians in the game. So, there’s nothing that I will want to do as a fellow musician to disrespect him in any way. And the weird thing is like, and I don’t feel like I have the right to take away from people’s moments, but the reality of it is, and case in point by who came up to me right afterwards is it’s almost like a chiropractor. You know, you just get a little crook out like, ‘Wow, this crook has been there!’ It’s just a little jolt of truth, right?”
West went on to explain that his intentions were misunderstood and that they came off the wrong way by stating:
“I felt — and this is my opinion and he’s his own man and he’s not wrong … but I felt that even though the Grammys some times gives awards to people who you wouldn’t think should win in the category, as a respect to artists, we mention the other artist’s name in our speech. And that was the point I was making about it. There’s like many of times I gave other people my award, literally made them come up onstage. Maroon 5, when they won best new artist, [Adam Levine] mentioned me because it was the ‘College Dropout’ and [it had] 10 nominations and all that.”
While West is trying to clarify his actions to the media, many are skeptical. West’s prior actions from the past and know that the artist’s strong opinions come off as slightly arrogant to the rest of the entertainment community.
