There will be a return of the new UK’s navy blue passport in the coming months. The supporter of the Brexit plan famously campaigned for a return to the blue passports.
Travelers will begin receiving The new British passport for a post-Brexit Britain next month. The French-Dutch company in Poland will be responsible for producing the navy blue passports.
In 2018, the news that the contacted will be giving to the Gemalto company resulted in a lot of uproars. However, the British government says the part of the manufacturing proceeds will take place in the UK. This is to make sure that no personal data leaves the country.
Current holders of their EU-styled burgundy passports will be able to use it until they expire. However, all new documents issued from next month will be in navy blue. This move marks a return to the navy blue passports used between 1921 and 1988.

UK Passport Entwined with national identity
According to British Home Secretary, Priti Patel, on Saturday, the return to the iconic gold and blue will once again weave together with national identity. She also added that she couldn’t wait to travel with one.
She, however, didn’t address the problem of the passport being manufactured in a member state of the EU.
The company Gemalto received the contract worth £260-million ($335 million, €309-million) from the former British prime minister, Theresa May. Many people criticized the move by the former prime minister, calling it ironic.
Alongside the critics, was Patel, who was a pro-Brexit campaigner. He referred to the move of producing the navy blue passports outside the UK as “a national humiliation.”
The inscription “European Union” is no more on all new British passports last year, ahead of the scheduled Brexit.
