Rand Paul Tells Hillary Clinton to Return Foreign Contributions

Kentucky Senator and probable presidential candidate Rand Paul, son of former Congressman Ron Paul, has reignited a long standing war of words with former Secretary of state Hillary Clinton. This week Rand Paul said that “there has been a war on women… in Saudi Arabia.”  Saudi Arabia has given Clinton a substantial amount of foreign contributions, Paul believes she needs to give that money back if she wants to have any credibility on women s rights issues.

In a further statement Paul said “When Hillary Clinton claims she will support women’s rights, ask her why she accepted millions of dollars from Saudi Arabia.” Saudi Arabia ranked historically low on The United Nations list of equal rights. Clinton has faced sharp criticism after it was made public earlier this year that the foundation has accepted donations from foreign governments with questionable human rights records.

Hillary Clinton isn’t receiving the money from Saudi Arabia herself; in fact, it’s going to her and her husband’s group The Clinton Global Initiative. The foundation banned all donations from foreign governments during Clinton’s four-year tenure at the State Department. However, once Clinton left, the donations continued flowing in once again.

Rand Paul will deliver his remarks at the Carroll County Lincoln Day Dinner in the Granite State’s North Country before spending another day in New Hampshire ahead of his likely presidential campaign. Many believe that Senator Paul is going to announce his intentions to seek the presidency on April 7 at a rally in Louisville Kentucky. If that is the case Paul would be the first Republican to announce his or her candidacy for president.

Paul and Clinton may potentially face each other in the General Election in 2016. The two have had plenty of arguments in the past, including Benghazi and foreign policy in general. Paul went as far to say that Clinton’s handling of the Benghazi terrorist attacks “disqualified her from seeking higher office.” Clinton has attacked Paul for being ” out of touch” on a host of issues.
