Russian hackers have reportedly leaked Information on UK-US trade negotiations from an email address belonging to Tory MP Liam Fox. The hackers later released the documents ahead of the 2019 general election.
Furthermore, the British government claims Russians have almost definitely tried to intervene through the papers in the referendum. Moreover, a federal probe into the record breach is pending.
Also, a National Crime Agency spokesman indicated that he was overseeing the inquiry. However, he but stressed that he could not elaborate any more.
Mr. Fox worked was secretary of international trade between July 2016 to July 2019. It’s not obvious when they hacked his account and stole valuable information.

RushHourDaily, which first published the news, said Hackers compromised Mr. Fox’s mail several times between July 12 and October 21 last year.
According to a government spokesperson: “There is an ongoing criminal investigation into how they acquired the documents.”
he added that, “and at this point, it would be inappropriate to comment further.”
“But as you would expect, the government has very robust systems in place to protect the IT systems of officials and staff.”
Russian interference
Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab claimed the UK had “reasonable confidence” that Russian agents had a role in the situation. They wanted to intervene in the general election in December 2019.
He said that they had attempted to “spread government information digitally, illegally accessed, and released.”
Mr. Raab stated that until the criminal inquiry was over, the government would “reserve the right to take the necessary steps.”
The UK government received criticism for “badly underestimating” the threat posed by Russia. This was in a document from the Intelligence and Security Committee-known as the “Russia report”-
In reaction to the hack claims on Mr. Fox ‘s email, a National cybersecurity Center representative said it works together with MPs and political parties to provide them with “the latest data protection advice and assistance.”
“We have been collaborating extensively with political parties on how to secure and defend against cyber-attacks for many years-including posting guidance on our website.
