Gradually enough, the LGBT community in the United States is being accepted and celebrated. Each time a state legalizes gay marriage, the individuals of the community are able to breathe a sigh of relief.

Sometimes, kind gestures are also made to support their choices and simply accept them as the normal human beings that they are. Recently, one such gesture made in Seattle must have probably melted their hearts with gratitude.

The Capitol Hill neighbourhood in Seattle has unveiled about eleven rainbow colored crosswalks. Mayor Ed Murray even joined the walk with the gay community to debut the crosswalk according to a social network profile of his. Mayor Murray said that this gesture, “Says something about Seattle.”

The crosswalks cost about $6000 each and are said to last about five years. The project was funded by new private developers from the area. To visit these crosswalks, one must walk down east of Broadway along the 10th and 11th avenues.

The streets indeed look like a burst of colors and are a visual treat: A refreshing change from the gray tarred roads.

Rainbow flag. Symbol of gay pride.
