Teresa Giudice, who came to fame for being one of the leading ladies on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey, is being hauled off to federal prison for 15 months.
Giudice turned herself in to the authorities at 3 a.m. on Monday January 4, 2015, and is scheduled to serve a 15-month sentence for bankruptcy fraud. Giudice and her husband, Joe Giudice, pleaded guilty last year to hiding assets from bankruptcy creditors and for submitting fake loan applications in an attempt to get 5 million dollars in mortgage and construction loans. The court did separate their prison sentences that way their four children would be taken care of and watched over by one of their parents.
She is being sent to a Federal Correctional facility in Danbury, Connecticut, the same women’s facility that inspired the television series “Orange is the New Black.” Many of us are familiar with the show and understand the difficulties for someone, especially a celebrity may face as they adjust to life in the big house. Her attorney said that she was ready and that she is a strong woman who will handle herself in prison.
Giudice is used to going wherever she wants, doing whatever she wants, and buying whatever she wants, as seen on her television series. This change of lifestyle is going to be severely different and life changing for the reality television star. One thing is for sure, and that is that her prison jumpsuit is definitely not going to be designer threads.
