Tim Curry is one of those actors that you easily recognize since you have watched a million films with this thespian in it. Known for roles in films like ‘Clue’, ‘Home Alone 2’, and ‘Rocky Horror Show’ and having guest roles in sit-com’s like ‘Psych’, Curry has pretty much done it all.
The 69 year-old actor, however, suffered a stroke almost three years ago. As a result of this, the actor’s speech has been affected. Ever since, Curry has kept appearances to a minimum.
Nevertheless, the actor seemed to be refulgent during the Tony Awards viewing party in Los Angeles on Sunday. Curry was bestowed with the Actors Fund Lifetime Achievement Award.
Curry said, “’I’ve done a few benefits for the Actors Fund and I think it’s a marvelous organization. I hope not to have to use it.” When asked about his optimism even after his stroke in July 2012, he simply said, “It’s not tough to maintain. It is just part of my DNA.”
The actor, who is known for his comedic timing for playing transvestite Dr. Frank in the Rocky Horror Picture Show, eloquently said, “Life isn’t meant to be scary. It’s to be celebratory. In which case, it would be like the theater. I think of that as a celebration of life.”
