It has been more than three decades since the release of the novel adaptation of the “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.” In the year 1979, the release of the books, along with the radio show of the same name and television series that followed, gained a cohort of fans.
The franchise, authored by Douglas Adams, is relevant even today. This science fiction-franchise even has its own movie that released in the year 2005, starring Martin Freeman and Zooey Deschanel.
Fans all over wanted to articulate their affections for the classic books, series and movie. Towel day is celebrated annually on the 25th of May. To celebrate the life and works of the unique writing style of Douglas Adams, fans simply carry a towel.
The writer, who passed away in 2001, will possibly be having a laugh about this quirky celebration. Literary fans express their gusto about their favorite works more often than not. Possibly a Brontë sisters’ day involving a hot cup of tea in the garden with scones would in fact be a delightful way to celebrate the romance of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet.
