The US President has contradicted his intelligence agencies by saying that he has seen the proof that suggests the coronavirus originated in Wuhan Lab. Earlier, the agencies said they were investigating the origins of the virus.

But the senior officials had already stated that because of the recent studies by many doctors, it can be said that the virus was not-made or genetically modified. In response to such allegations, the Chinese embassy rejected all the” baseless” accusations.

Coronavirus first emerged in the city of Wuhan last year, and since then it has killed more than 230,000 people globally and nearly 63,000 in the United States. The pandemic has so far infected more than 3.2 million people, the US accounts for almost a third of the total cases.

On Thursday, when Trump was asked about his claims of China’s Wuhan lab involvement in the outbreak. He replied that the has seen the proof. He further said that the WHO should be ashamed of their role, which has been no more than public relations for China.

The White House officials have asked the Intelligence agencies to determine, whether the coronavirus originated from the Wuhan lab agency. Intelligence agencies have also been tasked to determine the role of WHO in concealing the early outbreak.

US Intelligence Agencies and Trump

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence issued a rare statement debunking the conspiracy theories regarding the origins of the virus. He said that there is a scientific consensus on the origins of the virus.

In its first clear response, the intelligence agencies director said they are rigorously examining the new information and data to determine whether the virus originated in a lab or spread with contact with infected animals.

President has been criticized for his response to the outbreak. In the earlier stages of outbreak Trump downplayed the outbreak and the US became the worst-hit country by the pandemic. Since then, Trump has escalated a war of words with China.

On Wednesday, he accused Beijing of intervention in US elections, to make sure that he does not win the election. Trump also accused Chinese authorities along with WHO for concealing the coronavirus outbreak and halted funding for the UN body.

However, China has said that the President is trying to divert Americans from its problems. The New York Times reported that White House officials are looking the ways to push Beijing financially. It included allowing Washington to sue Beijing for concealing debt obligations and damages.

There is a visible clash between Trump and intelligence agencies. Earlier in January, he called the agencies naive over Iran and dismissed their assessment suggesting threat from North Korea.

In 2016, after the elections, he also clashed with intelligence agencies over the report suggesting Russian involvement in Presidential election. He has continued to defend Moscow and maintained that there was no Russian involvement.
