Oscar and three-time Emmy nominee star Taraji P. Henson will be reuniting with actor and filmmaker Tyler Perry for his new film “She’s Living My Life.”
In the new film, set to release March 30, 2018, Henson depicts a faithful wife who is tired of standing by her devious husband who she finds out is deceiving her. This will be the duo’s third film together. Henson previously starred in his 2009 film “I Can Do Bad All by Myself,” and his 2008 film “The Family That Preys.”
The filmmaker, however, has a lot more in store for his fans. In addition to “She’s Living My Life,” Perry will release two more films between the end of this year and next year, according to Variety. First, Perry will bring back his well-known comedic alias Madea in his comedy sequel “Tyler Perry’s Boo 2: A Madea Halloween,” in October 2017. The first one debuted last year October and was a great success; according to Deadline Hollywood the $20 million film made over $73 million.
His second film titled “A Madea Family Funeral,” will debut in August 2018. In the movie, a joyous family reunion turns into a nightmare when Madea and her crew travel backwards to Georgia, where they find themselves planning a funeral and discovering hidden family secrets.
Lionsgate entertainment company will be launching all three films, and has in the past launched other films by the director. Including his 2012 romance/comedy “Good Deeds,” his 2014 drama “The Single Moms Club,” his 2010 “For Colored Girls” and his two “Why Did I Get Married” films that debuted in in 2007 and 2010.
Henson is well known for her current role as ‘Cookie’ in Fox’s show “Empire.” Henson also starred in the 2016 film “Hidden Figures,” a movie that highlights the role that three African American women played in sending America’s first astronaut into orbit around Earth. Other current projects of hers include a starring role in Screen Gems production “Proud Mary,” which is set to release in 2018. And besides a new movie in 2018, Henson will also be getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
