A trio of young adults have been accused of strangling 21-year-old Joshua Rose on Aug. 25, placing sunglasses on his body and then casually driving him around before dumping the body.
Police Cpl. Mark Prushinski stated that Joshua Rose may have been suffering from some kind of drug overdose at the time.
“The individual was probably having some sort of significant medical problem and for whatever their thought process was, it appears as though he was strangled,” Prushinski said.
The trio suspected in the killing of Joshua Rose are Preston Layfield, Tyler Mirabelli, and Amanda Wayda. They are currently being held on assault and conspiracy charges. For reasons that are unknown at this time, Layfield, Mirabelli and Wayda made the decision to strangle Joshua Rose with jumper cables.
After killing him, the trio placed sunglasses and a hat on the body before driving around with it in their vehicle, even stopping for gas, before dumping the body in a wooded area near train tracks. At least one of the suspects admitted this to the troopers after their arrest.
The motivations behind the killing remain a mystery at this time, and police have indicated more than the two charges may be filed after an autopsy on Joshua Rose is conducted.
