The Trump Train took off on Monday during the first night of the Republican National Convention. The public was painted a clear figure on how much more unified the Conservative party is unfolding towards November. Speakers on the night included: Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson, Senator of Iowa Joni Ernst, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, retired Military Intelligence Officer Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, Patricia Smith, the mother of Sean Smith, a soldier deployed in Benghazi who was killed during a terrorist attack, former Navy Seal “lone-survivor” Marcus Luttrell, and the Donald’s wife, Melania Trump. The theme was clear from early on. Rip into Hillary Clinton’s failed foreign policy and promote Trump as the ‘Law and Order’ candidate.
The events started after the Never Trump movement and hype from the left-media was quickly steamrolled by the majority of delegates. Ohio governor John Kasich, who has refused to back Trump since the primaries ended decided not to attend the convention and received harsh criticism from his own party and the Trump camp.
Perhaps the biggest moment of the night was Trump’s WWE style entrance onto the stage which was complimented by Queen’s “We Are the Champions.” The crowd frenzied into an uproarious applause. Trump introduced his wife Melania, who spoke about her opportunity as an immigrant living in America. She helped humanize Trump, portraying him with a kind and big heart loyal to any race of people. Melania’s speech was lauded by CNN’s panel of Republicans and Democrats including Anderson Cooper.
