The World Alarmed
The spread of the Wuhan Coronavirus is something the whole world is taking seriously after cases are confirmed from across the continents.
As of Tuesday, Bangkok has confirmed 14 cases of the Wuhan Coronavirus. Thailand’s Health Secretary Sukhum Kanchanapimai said that the infected patients are aged 6 to 60 years old.
Kanchanapimai said all of these patients are Chinese, and all have traveled from Hubei- the most Wuhan Virus-infected town in China.

The Cambodian government has also confirmed its first case through its Health Minister Mam Bunheng. Bunheng said the patient is also a Chinese resident who traveled with his family from Wuhan earlier this month.
Canada has also joined the United States among Western countries with confirmed Wuhan Coronavirus cases. Ontario health officials told Canadian news sources that the patients are couples.
Aside from the couples, they are also investigating 19 possible cases and are still waiting for the result.
Ontario’s Associate Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Barbara Yaffe, told reporters that laboratory tests done to the patients were confirmed at the National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg.
In the first cases, the couples traveled from Wuhan.
Where did the virus come from?
Experts from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed that the Wuhan Coronavirus initially started and “jumped” from animals to humans. It was reported by News.Com.Au citing a local Chinese News Source.
The origin of the virus was said to be at Huanan Seafood Wholesales Market- a place known for trading of wild animals for pets and food. Animals such as fox, rats, peacocks, turtles, and even bats are sold in this market.
In their report, the Chinese CDC said the virus most likely originated from bats. The center’s report said the deadly coronavirus was detected in 31 of the 33 samples collected from the western zone of Huanan Market. The result of the tests is relevant to the selling of wild animals.
Meanwhile, the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention said the virus is identified as a beta coronavirus. It is a virus similar to the MERS and SARs virus. It is known that all of these viruses shave their origins in bats.
US CDC said the virus is linked to the recent emergence of the virus in an animal reservoir.
Meanwhile, it has been a fact that the first two cases of the Wuhan Virus did not have any contact with the infected Market. Because of this, Chinese health authorities are still trying to figure out where exactly the patients contracted the virus.
The Chinese government has banned the trade of wildlife in the country.
